Anthony Petini ha fatto una domanda in #Nonprofit Success Pack

Hey there,

I am the newly installed SA for my org, Drink at the Well, which is a non profit life development center for women. I have spent the last 2 months on trailhead learning the basics and moving into intermediate skills to implement Salesforce for our organization. I am running into a few issues and wanted to reach out to the community in support, so thank you in advance!

First Issue:

Volunteer management.. We are using V4S and I LOVE it for the event management, but I am struggling to figure out a solution to manage the general volunteer hours. For instance, although we do have several events (campaigns) throughout the year, we also need to track everything that a volunteer might come in and do. Becky Sue might come in three times a week to help clean the facility. Would I create a "general" campaign and assign contacts to specific jobs? Or can I add a contact with volunteer hours integrated somehow in a manageable updatable data section within the contact itself? And if I do it that way, how would I then track those hours in relation to the campaign events? For example, if Becky Sue volunteers 8 hours a week, but also volunteers at every event we have, she will be within the V4S system under her events, but would also need to have her general volunteer hours tracked.

I know this seems simple but I can't seem to wrap my mind around it.

Second Issue:

Mentee Data Tracking.

Currently, we have a super annoying google sheets doc that resembles a calendar where a number denoting a numerical criteria, or an X denoting a completion criteria are edited and there are rules that change the color of the cell if it is completed correctly.

The data being tracked is as follows:

- Mentorship Status (Whether they have a mentor or not). If they don't have a mentor, they must enter into a group mentorship meeting once a week.

- Start date of mentorship

- Projected end date

- Macro and Micro goals and what is needed to complete them

- Case work (currently we have Cases in SF and our caseworker uses that object to connect to contacts)

- Volunteer hours (2 required a week for mentees, but we have countless other volunteers)

- Counseling statues (whether or not they are active with a counselor)

- COR Class (They are required to attend one COR class a week, we need to track this weekly)

- GED status (most women do not have a HS diploma, so this is a tracked metric for every woman)

- Working status (Required volunteer hours may be adjusted if someone is currently working full time)

All of this stuff needs to be tracked in real time daily by our office manager and caseworker, but currently I'm struggling to wrap my head around this as well. I'd like to create a dashboard that denotes these metrics so someone can log on and see, but I also need to figure out where to track all this data in the first place.

I know it's a lot, but thank you all so much for your support!

In my instance, @Anthony Petini , Volunteer Hours shows up as a related list on a Volunteer Job, so you can add a Volunteer Hours record directly from there. It's the same process as when you do it from a Shift record. In my experience, the only field required on a Volunteer Hours record is the Volunteer Job, and the Shift field is optional, so you can choose to leave it blank.
