Showing open task next to an opportunity

How can I add "open task" as a field on the opportunity pipeline report. The data field is not in the list but I think its very convenient to be able to look at the pipeline and see the next task for each opportunity.

    Create a custom Report Type on Opportunity with Activities. Keep Opportunity as a primary object and Activities as related. 

     

    Make sure you select  - "A" records may or may not have related "B" records. This will show all the opportunity records which may or may not have tasks/activities.
