Making certain fields visible only at particular Opportunity stages

Question

I only want a particular field to be displayed at two of the six opportunity stages, regardless of opportunity types (there are two). How do I make this field not visible at the other four opportunity stages?

Hey Tanya,

It's easy you have to create seperate Page Layouts for those stages and then assign them to different record types (other than which is assigned)

Then use Workflow and change record types accordingly!

To complteely "hide" a field you need custom Visualforce Code.  It would be much easier to use a Field Dependancy or a Validation Rule
