I am trying to create a workflow in process builder to trigger an email to send when an object reaches 4 days within an expiration date field.  I can set it up to work when I create a new item, however I cannot get a retroactive trigger to work.  If I select only when a record is created and setup my criteria I don't have the advanced option to check for every time it's edited to subsequently meet criteria.  If I select created and edited I do have the advanced box, and have tried to follow this process, but nothing is triggering...https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=How-to-retroactively-trigger-workflow-on-already-existing-records&language=en_US&type=1

Any advice appreciated

    Hi Lauren,

I would like to try and assist here. Here are my suggestions:

    1. To retroactively trigger a process builder, you need to use the evaluation criteria "created and everytime it's editted".

    2. Since this is a time based process, you need to check on the 'Advanced' checkbox to allow time based actions.

    3. Retroactively triggering your process on existing records would have depend on your criteria (the criteria you entered within your criteria node). Note that for a 'subsiquent' change to be done, you need to unmeet the criteria of the process, then meet it again to trigger the time based action.

Here is a sample based on the article you have:

    1. Create a custom checkbox "ProcessTrigger" with default checked

    2. Update the Process with the following:

    Process Criteria:

    "Expiration Date" ISNULL Boolean False

    "ProcessTrigger" equals Boolean TRUE

    3. Go to an existing record and check the checkbox, which should trigger your process builder.

I hope the information above helps!
