Can I pull through an Account Name to a User page layout?

When creating a new Contact via an Account, it pulls through the Account Name, Phone, etc onto the Contact page layout. From the Contact layout, I can then create a Community User Account for this Contact via a button at the top of the page. It pulls through the telephone number but, I want to know if there is a way (I'm assuming a formula) to pull the Account Name through into the Company field or failing that, pulling it into a new field on the User page layout called Account or Account Name?

    Hi Lee, 

     

    Of course you can, and formula is indeed the right wat to go about it.

     

    You Community Contact has a related User record. If you access that user record you can see that is a 'Lookup field called 'Contact' that relates to the Contact record.

     

    Now, you can create a cros formula field. New field in User, formula, text type.

     

    Then go to advanced settings and click on Insert Field, that will give you few options so you can go to:

     

    Contact >

     

            Account >

     

                  Account name

     

    Description, helptext, save and tada!
