What is my formula changing the date format of my date field?

Question

I am creating a field update (naming convention) formula and it is returning the date field I have included (which is in date data type) as YYYY-MM-DD, when it appears on the record page as DD/MM/YYYY.

Can someone provide some guidance? Do I need to add a direction for the date output format?

This is the date part of my formula:

+ TEXT(Maturity_Date__c)

Hi Libby,

Unfortunatily there is no way to give diretion for the date format in formula field but you can do it in a little trickty way by using this formula:

TEXT(MONTH(Date__c))+"/" +TEXT(DAY(Date__c))+"/" +TEXT(YEAR(Date__c))

You can give any format by moving the date, month and year forward and backward

You just need to replace the Date__c with your Maturity_Date__c so the formula will be like  TEXT(MONTH(Maturity_Date__c))+"/" +TEXT(DAY(Maturity_Date__c ))+"/" +TEXT(YEAR(Maturity_Date__c ))
