If I set something up, will using Data Loader bypass this rule?
If this matters, I tried following the steps here to create a trigger

and got message “your organization's code coverage is 0%. You need at least 75% coverage to complete this deployment. Also, the following triggers have 0% code coverage. Each trigger must have at least 1% code coverage."
Its not really worth setting it up if Data Loader will ignore. Thanks for any insight.

Hi Aron,
U can set up a duplicate rule and then import using the data loader.The data loader will not ignore the rule if the rule is active.Yes triggers need to have 75% test coverage in order to deploy to production.Try using the duplicate rule instead.
