Pipeline Report as of this month

Hi SF Community,

I am working on a forecasting project where I'm trying to see where we start each month pipeline at but am struggling to use the correct opportunity report for this. Can someone walk through which opportunity report they would leverage and which fields would help us narrow down the query?
