Editing product descriptions when adding them to opportunities and quotes

I see in earlier posts that this is possible, but no detailed instructions on how to do this.

 

I need to append or insert langauage either on the Opportunity or the Quote for the Product Description on a per Opportunity/Quote basis.

 

Can this be accomplished and please provide detailed, step by step instructions if so.

    In the Page Layout Editor for the Opp Product page you are using, click the Multi-line layout link at the top of the element selector box.
