I have 2 quick questions to ask. iv looked all over the net but cant find a solution.
1st Question
Im using the following link on the lead page from a customer button to open a custom email
location.replace('/_ui/core/email/author/EmailAuthor?p2_lkid={!Lead.Id}&rtype=00Q&retURL=%2F{!Lead.Id}&template_id=00XD00000024hiO')
However the email template its bringin up doesnt seem to include the attachment i added when creating the template. Is there anything i can add to my custome link to get it to open the template with the attachment?
2nd Question,
The above custom link works fine for sending emails from leads, however when i convert a lead to a contact i have a couple of other emails i need to send, is it possible to modify the code to work from a contact page rather then the lead page? I tried editing it to referrence the contact.id insted of the lead.id, it opens the email but doesnt pick up the names.
Im pretty sure its somthing simple but its driving me insaine!

I don't have answer to the first question but for the second:
I think you have to create a new template. More likely you have merge fields in the template which currently refer leads and you need to modify them for contacts (e.g. contact.field). Also, this template will have its ID - replace it in the link you provided.
