However, on any object tab (Custom or Standard), a couple of components disappear.
Now that would be pretty cool if it was a feature that could be controlled, but I dont know of any such functionality.
One of the components is a normal custom links component
The other is a visualforce component
I tried removing the visualforce component in case it was somehow going bonkers and taking out the custom links component, but that did not change anyhing.
Anyone ever seen this? Any known issues? Am I in the Twilight zone? Should I power cycle my instance?

For kicks, double check that your Prod org has 'Show Custom Components on all Pages' checked (Setup > User Interface)
