I had to install the new version of DataLoader, and now I can't install it because I keep getting the error: this application requires a java runtime environment 1.8.0 (32-bit). The thing is, I have JRE 1.8.0 installed? What on earth is going on here?
To be sure, I tried following this link posted in another topic to re-install:

But what on earth is a .tar.gz file and how do I open it?
Have I locked myself out from having Dataloader access forever? Is this an issue with me having a 64bit machine?
Please help me I am stuck in a jam here!!!
