I'm having the same problem too. We have Lotus 8.0.2 and all we get is the sync button but the rest are all greyed out.
I've got Salesforce looking into it but it's taking time. However if I go to Salesforce.com Options... by either right clicking or to the Actions menu, I open the Options window hit enter or press OK and the buttons are then coloured. From there you can assign you emails into Salesforce. It does however disappear again if you move to another email or back to your inbox, so you need to do it all over again.
Not best answer I know. Will let you know if I get it solved properly.
