how do I connect the account page to a custom tab?

I have created a custom tab that I would like to always be associated with an account in salesforce. I need to know how to have the account linked to this custom tab.

    Hey Betsy,

     

    Can you elaborate a bit?

     

    Do you want the tab to be associated with one particular account record, or do you want it to redirect to the Accounts main screen?
