Will Opportunity Teams be added to Professional Ed?

I'm running professional edition and need to identify engineers engaged on a sales opportunity.  Should I add fields on my own and create my own reports or will this functionality be extended to Professional Ed users in the near future?

    No Salesforce rep will confirm or deny an upcoming feature.

     

    However, you can create your own essentially. You would have to create 2 new objects: 1 to hold the team members and display on the opportunity, and the other to relate to either the User or Contact Record - thus allowing a Many-to-Many relationship.

     

    Doing the setup this way will allow you to migrate and backfill the Opportunity team object if you do one day get the feature in Professional, or upgrade to Enterprise.
