exporting data from Professional Edition

Is it true that I can't export data out of the salesforce as professional edition user?  That seems crazy or maybe, I'm not finding the right info. to guide me.  A bit of assistance would be great.

    You have a couple of options.  1) You can use reports and then export your data to excel or 2) You could have the API enabled and then use the Data Loader.  The downside is that Professional Edition customers do not have the API enabled by default this is an upgrade that has a fee associated.  I would contact your sales rep for more info if you want to explore option 2.  Here is a link to more information on the Data Loader in online help.  NOTE: you must be logged into Salesforce to view the help link.
