Hi,
I am looking for a way to pre-populate pick list fields(@ Standard New or Edit pages) with values from a custom object..
I have a custom button @ Account detail page for a Opportunities related list called "New Opportunity" and in New opportunity standard page i have a Manufacturer custom pick-list field. Currently this pick list field is populated with predefined pick list values. I am trying to pre-populate pick list values from a custom object. The reason I am doing this is that we have same Manufacturer pick list field in different pages and it’s very difficult to maintain same pick list values in all the layouts, which is time consuming. So we wanted to keep all pick list values in one place and use them where ever it's required.
Custom Object Info:
API Name: Manufacturers__c
Standard Field : Manufacturer Name(Field Label) - Name(Field Name)
This custom object stores only Manufacturer names.
Please let me know if anybody has an idea how to implement this or any other better approach would be very helpful..

This is what exactly that i am looking for. I have a same Manufacturer picklist field in multiple places in different pages. Instead of hardcoding pick list values in each object all i need to to get the values from one place(May be from a custom object). This is some thing simillar to dynamically filling the pick list values from a table..
