Can i have database.com license with force.com licenses in the same instance?

I have a salesforce instance with force.com licenses and i want to add some new database.com licenses.

 

Is there any problem doing this? Both licenses can be in the same instance?

    There is a line here that suggests they can:

     

    What is the difference between Force.com and Database.com?

     

    Force.com is an application development platform. Database.com is a database. They can be used together or separately.

     

    I would imagine that if it is possible, it would need to be Database.com with Force.com licenses and not the other way around. Salesforce generally can add but not remove as it gets too complicated. so you probably need Database.com first.

     

    Would definitely recommend asking the Sales department though for confirmation.
