Within our organization we do have some opportunities/orders for which a quote is not needed and not created. When we want to create an order from one of these opportunity it pops up with the message "Opportunity must have a primary quote in order to create an order". Can we configure Sale the opportunity record? Thanks

You can create functioning Orders without establishing CPQ object relationships, even when CPQ is installed. This article provides a list of the objects you’ll need to create and core fields you’ll need to populate on objects related to the order process. NOTE: Bypassing the CPQ process is not a Salesforce CPQ best practice.
