This Soapbox update is so cool, you'll want to create an entire course catalog for your nonprofit just so you can managed it with Soapbox and Salesforce!
With the latest release, we've added the ability for administrators to import and export classes as part of our upcoming Courses and Classes add on for the Events app. This release now joins the previous update that allowed for the import and export of Instructors and Courses and provides incredible flexibility and power for managing a class catalogue in Soapbox.
Administrators can extract all class records or choose to export only a specific filtered subset. With the import option, they can add new classes by uploading a CSV file - or update existing classes based on a matching Id value. The Id value can either be derived from Soapbox or an external Id such as the Salesforce record Id which is tailor-made for organizations managing classes as Campaigns in Salesforce.
As part of the import process, tickets can be created or updated for classes as can courses and instructors. Taxonomy terms - a flexible tagging system used for the Events app - can also be associated with classes through the import process, allowing for their assignment to department, age groups, or any attribute the administrator wishes.
Happy Soapboxing!
The Soapbox Engage courses and classes hits just keep coming! If you're handling more than a few courses for your community, you can know that manual imports of data are just awful. Welcome to a new world, class managers!
