My company is new to Salesforce and we are trying to work out the best way to deal with repeat business. The idea of creating an opportunity for every order of repeat business doesn't fill my sales team with joy as they expect Salesforce to make things easier and quicker no more cumbersome.
Our problem is we don't want to have to raise an opportunity for every order of repeat business. We want to be able to forecast for the year by customer and product. The customer doesn't always order the same amount each month or the same mix of products.
What is the best way to deal with this situation please?
Thanks,
Jodie

Also, if we were to raise an opportunity for every repeat order we would need to amend the quantity of each one as time goes by, this is also very cumbersome, I've tried to do this from the list view, thinking at least I can filter a list then just update the quantity but the field is locked, only revenue is available for editing. I am the system administrator. Is there an easy way of updating closing dates and quantities for opportunities so we don't have to click into each one separately?
Thanks,
Jodie
