The way I have it configured now is that I have one data extension with all elements used in all three triggered email sends. Basically, the API will send over all the customer data, and then specify which trigger email to send. The triggered email interaction specifies which email to send. Also, I am classifying these emails as default transactional so that the customers Opt-in/out status is not considered.
My question is that in the Triggered Send Interaction setup, they have a field called Subscription Management. In this setup, selecting a list is required and offers options to ‘Add subscribers to this list’ and/or ‘Update Subscribers’. Since these are transactional mails, I don’t want to modify the users Opt in/out status if they exist, if the users don’t exist in ET, I’m cautious to add new users to the All Subscribers (we have multiple departments that are used ET to send mails and I don’t want anyone marketed that didn’t sign up for it). Am I going about this the right way? What is the best way to deal with the scenario I described?
