• Install a package in your Trailhead Playground.
  
• Build a data model for a Dreamforce registration app.
  
• Use the Data Import Wizard to import attendee records into the app.
  
• Create an automation for registration.
  

Introduction

When you’re running an event, there are many things you need to track. You need to track logistics, like where your event will be held and when your event occurs. You need to track your sessions you have scheduled. And you need to track who has registered for your event and what sessions they plan to attend. 

In this project, you build an event registration app. To save time, we provide you with the foundation for the app in a managed package, and then you add additional customizations to the app, including custom fields, custom objects, and automation.

Launch Your Trailhead Playground and Install a Package

You'll be completing this hands-on project in your own personal Salesforce environment, called a Trailhead Playground. Get your Trailhead Playground now by first logging in to Trailhead, and then clicking Launch at the bottom of this page. Your playground opens in a new browser tab or window. 

Keep the playground window open while you do this project. After you complete the project steps in your playground, come back to this window and click Verify Step at the bottom of this page.

Install the Package

Get started by opening your Trailhead Playground and installing a package. If your playground isn't already open, scroll to the bottom of this page and click Launch. If you see a tab in your org labeled Install a Package, great! Follow the steps below. 

If not, click to launch the App Launcher, then click Playground Starter and follow the steps. If you don’t see the Playground Starter app, copy this package installation link and check out Install a Package or App to Complete a Trailhead Challenge.

1. Click the Install a Package tab.
   
2. Paste 04t0P000000JFs1 into the field.
   
3. Click Install.
   
4. Select Install for Admins Only, then click Install.
   
5. Once the package is installed, click Done.
   

When the app is finished installing, you see a confirmation page and get an email to the address associated with your playground.

Now you have the package installed. Up next, you create custom fields, create a custom object, and import data.
