Media Cloud Solution Map

So, how do all these puzzle pieces fit together? Let’s check out the Media Cloud solution map.

The solution map shows different components working together to provide customized media solutions. So what is going on in the map? Let’s break it down.

Digital Channels

A digital channel is a way to reach customers through digital means, such as email, websites, and social media. Digital channels are how end users, like you, and other people, like sales reps, access the functions and services of Media Cloud.

Media Cloud is omnichannel, so it provides service across channels, such as webshops, apps, and agent consoles. For example, you might start a purchase in a web store and then decide to speak to an agent about the same purchase. With omnichannel capabilities, the agent has the information you entered through the web store on their agent console. This makes business interactions efficient and seamless.

Media Industry Applications

Media Cloud gives you industry applications that support common media-related business processes. These applications extend Media Cloud functionality.

  • Advertising Sales Management (ASM): Supercharge sales teams to sell smarter and faster, and maximize cross-platform advertising sales with converged planning, execution, and measurement from a single platform.
  • Subscriber Lifecycle Management (SLM): Personalize offers and manage promotions. Use digital channels to deliver a unified and intelligent experience for subscription activation and customer self-care.
  • Media Commerce Management (MCM): Optimize media services and drive revenue with personalized media commerce experiences to grow e-commerce fast. Stand out with relevant, AI-powered, unified customer insights.
  • Licensing and Rights Management (LRM): Streamline global licensing and contract negotiations with content syndication and distribution.

Media Industry Data Model

The Media Industry data model is built on top of the Salesforce data model to cater to media-specific business processes and industry challenges. The standard objects and their relationships help you simplify and speed up data storage, maintenance, and retrieval. Use the media data model to achieve a 360-degree view of your customers and deliver outstanding tailored experiences.

You can view and download the best-practice Media and Entertainment Data Model and IDX Workbench Desktop Application Omnistudio migration tool from the Salesforce Help portal. Use the data models and Omnistudio tools to quickly configure and deploy your media solution.

Enterprise Product Catalog

Enterprise Product Catalog (EPC) enables you to introduce and manage a portfolio of products that are relevant to customers, released at the most opportune time, and with minimal cost. Use EPC to govern the end-to-end processes and product data relevant to the product development, product launch, and in-life product management activities of your organization.

Industries Configure, Price, Quote

Industries Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) is a cloud-based, quote-and-order capture system you can use to configure media products and service offers that are just right for the customer. Driven by the underlying product-service-resource (PSR) data in the shared catalog, Industries CPQ provides advanced order-capture and guided-selling capabilities. With CPQ, media companies can offer best-fit products and services to customers across different channels.

Contract Lifecycle Management

Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) streamlines documentation-related tasks in the sales cycle, such as proposal and contract approval. CLM administrators can author and assemble contract clauses and templates into dynamically generated documents to meet the needs of sales users. This means lower costs and effort to do business. Sales reps know the assembled document is valid and structurally complete, which shortens review and approval cycles. Preintegration with the DocuSign electronic signature solution helps teams close deals faster.

Industries Digital Commerce

Industries Digital Commerce enables high-volume browsing and product offer configuration through self-service channels. It also provides advanced order-capture, guided selling, and management of peak traffic with elastic scaling. For example, use Industries Digital Commerce to integrate Media Cloud with your existing web store.

Industries Order Management

Industries Order Management delivers best-in-class, next-generation order management capabilities to media companies. The solution provides a seamless user experience across all related modeling and runtime functions.

Capabilities include commercial and technical order decomposition, order orchestration based on dynamically generated workflows, order handling, and order lifecycle management. Use the solution to manage in-flight order changes and other customer-requested order amendments for media offers.

Omnistudio

Omnistudio is a set of digital engagement tools that allow you to create guided experiences using data from your Salesforce org and external sources. With Omnistudio’s drag-and-drop configuration capabilities, you create guided brand experiences specific to your industry with clicks rather than custom code. Find learning resources for Omnistudio linked in the Resources section.

Marketing, Sales, and Service Cloud Integration

Media Cloud integrates with Marketing, Sales, and Service Clouds to give you capabilities specific to the media industry. It uses analytics and AI to provide a personalized service to your customers.

So that’s it! You’ve learned the foundations of Media Cloud and how it can transform the way media companies do business. You also saw the Salesforce Industries applications and the part they play in this transformation.
