Analytics Smartproject ha fatto una domanda in #Tableau Server

Hi,

We are using Tableau Server 2025.1.3 installed in Docker (https://help.tableau.com/current/server-linux/en-us/server-in-container.htm) on a dedicated server with Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS on board.

We build complex workbooks and views that use Clickhouse and Google sheets as data sources. And we've set up the scheduled extracts for our data and turned on Acceleration for views.

Extract job is completed in about 35 minutes.

Then the acceleration job is started and successfully completed in about the same time.

Nevertheless whenever we open the view for the first time, it hangs for about 10 minutes and sometimes doesn't even load without refreshing it again. But after first time 10-minute lag, the view opens normally in about 10 seconds.

We've tried to turn off acceleration and got the same result: the view hangs for 10 minutes for the first time and then it's ok. It looks like acceleration actually starts only on the first view and it takes 10 minutes. And we have no idea what does the scheduled acceleration job do and why it takes 35 minutes.

We've used Tableau Server 2022 with External query cache warmup before. The same workbooks used to work just fine.

    Hi Analytics,

By any chance are you trying a live connection with a .twbx - I've seen this where Tableau is essentially looking for the live connection, this times out and then Tableau failovers to the extract connection.

Just switch your connection to extract on the data source pane and republish and this should sort it out.

    HTH
