We are trying to find a solution to better support PPT on iPad and DSA in particular (while in the longer term I believe we should seek to use a more future proof authoring tool than PowerPoint). Here are some possibilities:
- See if Microsoft provides any library or cloud solution to embed a PPT viewer in an app. MSDN, office365 and similar.
- Look if any other third party vendor provides a library or SDK for PPT support. Many existing viewers use QLPreview as a starting point and there is no point in adding so much of what we have already
- SharePoint already converts PPT to a web version maybe we could leverage that of SharePoint in the cloud ?
- HTML5 converters: there’re tools around able to convert PPT to html5 uploading the html5 version to DSA would be a viable solution. Some products I’ve seen are Office plugins but other can also be invoke via cli or SDK opening the possibility to some automation. Are there any vendors that can accomplish this?
- Cloud converters
Just wanted to know if anyone could advise on the situation or had any similar experiences. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if the question is still relevant, but there’s a solution that works great for this issue. iSpring Platform (http://www.ispringsolutions.com/ispring-platform), which is an SDK that converts presentations into HTML5 and supports all PowerPoint animations and effects. You can even set programmed control of converted presentation playback and view them in a mobile browser.
