Managed package reference to an existing object/field

Hi all,

I am a little confused with packages in general, but for this doubt i am going to focus in managed package.

Let me give you a brief example scenario to explain the error/issue that I am having:

I have a customer with 1 custom field for Account object already deployed in the org. It cannot be deleted because they have a lot of automations involving it.

I have developed a Flow that references this Custom field of the Account object.

I created a managed package that includes the Flow developed and the custom field of the Account (due to dependencies. All objects/fields referenced in the flow have to be included also the package).

When I try to install the package to customer org, I got an error telling me that the custom field is already installed.

How can I avoid this issue? Remeber I cannot rename/delete the custom field of the Account object.

Hi Vinay,

I am not getting your point.

Let me clarify the situation.

The custom field of the Account object already deployed has no namespace.

On the other hand, my automation included in the managed package, reference to that custom field so I have to include it also in the manage package. So, when I tried to deploy the managed package in the ORG, it says that the custom field already exists.
