I'm wondering if there's a way to make a field writable by one role, but only editable by another.
We have a customer activation date field that we want our sales team to be able to make the initial entry into, but not edit. The only people who should be able to edit the field is the CS team.
It's not doable in field security, and I'm wondering if it's a validation rule. If it is, I haven't figured out how to build that validation rule yet but I'm gonna keep working at it. Is it maybe a workflow? Any guidance would be helpful.
