Does anyone have any suggestions for end user training available, either online or in person? Free or paid? I need to get a couple staff from basic users to power users, and I think they could really benefit from a deeper understanding of how Salesforce works behind the scenes (not from an admin perspective, but from a platform architecture perspective).
I've been able to train folks in the specifics of what records to create and what fields to fill in, etc. to maintain the system. But they don't fully understand how it works, so when they hit a roadblock, they don't know how to begin to go around it and instead come straight to me to fix it.
If you're going to suggest Trailhead, can you suggest specific modules? I find the very beginning modules to be too basic and the rest too admin focused.
Thanks!
@Nonprofit Get Started Hub@Salesforce.org System Administrators@Training and User AdoptionMake it FUN, too! We ran a Trailhead Challenge and gave out prizes. We tracked completion as records on a custom object related to Training. I created "blank" records for users for specific modules to complete, with fields for "Aha!s" and points earned, as well as notes and feedback. We were able to "assign" these training records to users and track completion. In staff meetings we cheered team members on and gave out prizes. Our CEO was one of the first to finish; sharing a picture of her was a good reminder that this was an organizational priority. You can move beyond trailhead as well, including other resources as you see fit. You could also award users for presenting or participating in informal, internal discussion groups (e.g., lunch and learn--similar to a larger-scale Salesforce study groups.) Make it fun and cheer them on!
