Hi Liane,

I have been reading your article from July titled "Track Fundraising Goals Using Campaigns". I really like this idea and want to use it. I am relatively new to SF and NPSP. We are not live yet, but are working on cleaning up data and customizing SF to work with our organization and data.

My question relates to setting up Campaigns. I have already done this for our new fiscal year 2017/18 and entered goals. Even entered a few test donations using these campaigns to see how it all works. It all looks good. My concern is that using this method would seem to require new Campaigns each year. So if I have a Campaign for Events for 2017/18 I would need a new Campaign for Events in 2018/19 and so on. If I then wanted to get a report of all donors to Events over a 3 or 5 year period, I would need to include each of the individual annual campaigns. Is that correct?

If I had 15 Campaigns for each fiscal year and duplicated them each year, it would seem that I would have a lot of Campaigns after several years. Is that how this would work or am I missing something?

We would need to set up or data from the old system to use these annual Campaigns. I want to make sure I understand how this all works before I set up the data import.

Thanks for your help,

Robin

    Hi @Nate Marsh

    ,

I think I got the wrong Nate before. Sorry about that. Thanks for your input. I'm still looking at the options and concerned with how many campaigns we would end up with after several years.
