customizing the drop down arrow (current options edit & delete)

Question

Is there a way to add an option to the drop down arrow? Currenly the only option is "edit" or "delete". I am trying to add a picklist to the dropdown to allow quick access for users(specifically, need to add requirment status to the dropdown).

I tried from my end. We can add teh list button tehre but it wont appear where you are refferring. It will add the header section of related lsit.

Create a list button on related object as list button tehn add that button in actual page layout which parent object.

In my case, i created a button in opps then added that in account layout.
