Hello

Is it possible to send out a custom email notification to the contact owner, after successfully imported contacts via import wizard? When using the import wizard i dont see any function only trigger workflow/processes. So I believe I need to create a workflow/process.

E.g. we are uploading contacts in bulk and already assign a owner to them. So each owner should then receive a email notification that he has a new contact asign and should go review it etc. How can I create such a workflow that gets triggered with the import? Thanks, Philipp

    Hi Philipp,

You can check the following articles on how to setup a Workflow Email Alert.

    https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=workflow_rules_new.htm&type=0

    https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=customize_wf.htm&type=0

    I. Create the Email Template

    1. Go to Setup|Communication Templates| Email Templates

    2. Click New Template

    3. Choose "Text" and click Next

    4. Scroll down under "Email Template Information" and enter the Email Template Name, and the Email Subject. Make sure "Available for Use" is checked

    5. Add the Email body

Tip: You can use the Event fields on the available Merge fields to add into the body of the Email. (Ex. Add {!Lead.Link} or "Detail Link" into the body of the email to include the link of the Event record into the email

    6. Hit Save

II. Create the Workflow Email Alert

    Create the workflow:

    1. Go to Setup|Create|Workflow & Approvals|Workflow Rules

    2. Select New Rule.

    3. Choose "Contact" as Object and hit Next.

    4. Enter Rule Name.

    5. Set Evaluation Criteria to: "created"

    6. Under Rule Criteria, select "formula evaluates to true" and enter the following: TRUE

    7. Click Save and Next.

    8. Add Workflow Action and select "New Email Alert".

    9. Enter Description and select the Email Template you have created for Events

    10. Under Recipient Type, choose "Owner"

    11. Under Available Recipients, add the "Assigned to" as a Selected Recipient

    12. Hit Save, then click Done

    14. Activate the Workflow

    I hope this helps!
