Has anyone got experience of migrating from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 to Salesforce.com Professional? If yes, is there a simple process to follow that you can point me to?

Yes, we at Import2 have done a few imports from MS Dynamics to Salesforce Professional.
1) The easiest way to go is to use Import2 service. It will fully automate migration process and will take you just a few clicks to start import - https://www.import2.com/salesforce/from/dynamics
2) Import Wizard. To open it go to Your Name -> Setup -> Data Management.
3) Data Loader. It is a standalone application for Mac or PC and is available for download at Force.com. This should work if you have API access.
4) Sometimes it's best to use Salesforce API directly (again, if you have API enabled). This documentation could be of use - http://www.salesforce.com/us/developer/docs/api/
