Global Picklist is greyed out on Leads even after record type is verified

I have a Global Picklist titled "Partnership."  This field exists on the account level with zero issues. I am now attempting to add it to the Lead page layout referencing the same Global Picklist.

 

The problem is that the field is greyed out and un-selectable.

I have followed the advice in other threads that say to follow this article (https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=000233121&type=1) to verify that the Record Types are updated.  They indeed are as you can see here

 

User-added image(partner names are blurred out, but they are absolutely in the "Selected Values" section.

 

What other possibilities might it be?  Thank you.

    Hi Brian,

     

    Just to confirm, hope you have already checked following fields settings:-

    • Is this field set to read only in the page layout? 
    • Is the Field Level Security settings is read-only ?
    • Have you added/Selected Value for this picklist field in all (or currently being accessed) Lead Record type ?
    • Any Field dependency/Controlling field for this picklist field ?
