We have a birth date field in our Contacts. But I need a formula to calculate the age of the Contact for demographic purposes. I created a formula field to do this. So far, I have two options:

  1. YEAR(TODAY())- YEAR( Birthdate ) subtracts the birth date year from the current year. The problem is, if the birthdate is in November and the current month is April, then the age is still given as the person's age in November - so it makes people born after January 1 older than they are.

  2. So I decided just to suptract Birthdate from today's date and divide it by 365.25. (TODAY() - Birthdate)/365.25. Because we use whole numbers to talk about someone's age, I set it to zero decimal places. The problem then is that once the formula calculates someone's age as 33.5, their age in whole numbers will be 34, thus making them older than they are.

Does anyone have a better formula for calculating a person's age based on their birthdate?
