Is it possible to attach article recommendations by producing a link, NOT a PDF?

We are trying to drive adoption of the front end (portal) so PDFs defeat that objective.  Is there a way to change attaching an article so that it attaches a front end link for the user, NOT a PDF?

    I would like to try and help here, but would be able to provide a little more information as to what you are trying to attach the link/article to and provide a little more information about the current process.
