CRM Content / Library -- Default value for a field

I would like to add a default value for a picklist field.

When I choose a default value in the "Fields" section, it works. No problem.

But if I want to add a default value in the "Content Types / picklists" section, it doesn't work: when I add a new document in a library, the default value I chose is not selected.
