Hello!

We're a social enterprise working with entrepreneurs based in villages in Pakistan. We're slowly moving towards using Salesforce for our partnership/contact management, but I ideally would like to have an overview of our field operations in Salesforce too. (The alternative is some very cumbersome Excel spreadsheets that we'd grow out of quickly.)

What I'm looking for is something that can track the following:

  • Sales of our products (solar lanterns), according to the field partner and village entrepreneur
  • Loan payments towards our products (collect by the entrepreneur or a field partner)
  • Money owed by the field partner or village entrepreneur
  • Commission owing for the village entrepreneur (and when they're redeemed, most likely in the form of a product)
  • Inventory management of the products (also, how many are in our central storage, how many at field location A, field location B, etc)
  • Product repairs (when and where are they occurring, what types of repairs)

Obviously this is quite extensive, but to me it seems like a fairly generic problem that many social enterprises or traditional NGOs would face when working with communities and products. Is there a package out there that caters to this? Or does anyone have suggestions on how to approach this?

Many thanks,

Jeremy

    Hey Jeremy,

There aren't any apps out there that we know of, but you might consider contacting an org like kiva.org or Grameen Foundation. They are using salesforce.com and might be willing to offer you some insight.
