I've found about 150 Accounts (with 620 Contacts) that were meant to be merged with existing accounts (as a contact import) and instead of matching the new data's Account ID field to the existing Account ID, the Account ID was mapped to the Account Name, creating 150 new Accounts with Account IDs as the Account Name.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm easily able to narrow down the "bad" new accounts, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to match them to the accounts they should have been matched to in the first place.
Thanks

Maybe a duplication app would help? I've heard great things about Data Cleanser. If not, you're going to have to do some manual footwork, by checking the good and duped accounts, check to see if there is any differences in fields and update the real account with good data, use vlookup to change the bad ID's to the good id's for the accountID on the contact object, then delete the bad accounts. This is going to need excel to work...
