Customizing Cases and creating a new console

Hello - I have been given the task to create a console for one team in our org. They need a customized Case tab and their manager needs to view their case status at the high level without the detail. The manager would also like to have a dashboard that shows the status based at the higher level. How do I create this specifically for this team of 30 and where do I start? Do I have to create individual profiles for the team first?

If Mgmt doesn't want to see details, then to me that's letting them use Reports and Dashboards, not a console and/or case tab. Creating reports and dashboards is pretty straightforward on Trailhead, and then you would just allow folder access to the people who you want to see it
