Lightning - Disable IN-LINE Editing on List View

Is it possible to turn off IN-LINE Editing on Lightning List Views for an entire ORG?

I unchecked the User Interface option 'Enable In-line Editing' but this did NOT seem to have the desired effect - you could still see and check records in mass.  Is there another parameter I may be missing?

Any suggestions?
