I'm wondering if anyone else gets as many complaints about this lightning "feature" that I do.
In lightning when a user doesn't have access to a record due to sharing and they click on the edit button they get an error message that's helpful that states:
"Looks like there's a problem.
You do not have the level of access necessary to perform the operation you requested. Please contact the owner of the record or your administrator if access is necessary."
When a user uses inline edit (which they are much more inclined to do) they get the unhelpful error message after they have entered values and try to save of:
Review the following errors
- insufficient access rights on object id
We spoke with support and we were told working as designed. And we were told to turn off inline edit, which we really don't want to do or to build completely custom pages which we don't want to do either.
Is there anything on the roadmap to change this design? Or at least allow us to control the error message?
Does anyone else find this problematic?
Oh, did I mention that neither clicking Edit button *OR* inline edit plus save enters a trigger at all? So no way to add a nicer error message to the record or a field.
