We have started the project to switch to LEX by end of 2020. We have quite a lot to do, including Change management on +/- 400 users. I would like to avoid an automated switch to LEX one year in advance on our roadmap which will create a big mess around our organisation...!!!
Can you please precise what I should do to avoid it? Will it just be to untick the "Lightning Experience User" permission at custom profile level? Thanks in advance
Alexandre the Winter '20 critical update will only modify the org-level setting. your users will fall into two groups:
1) Users in custom profiles: disable the Lightning Experience User permission on the user profile. Users in custom profiles without this permission will not see the option to switch to Lightning and will not be touched by the Scheduled Switcher even after the org-level setting is enabled.
2) Users in standard profiles: general best practice is to move users to custom profiles, but the Lightning Experience user permission cannot be disabled for Standard Profiles. If you have users in this group, you have two options. You can either disable the Scheduled Switcher (see below) or apply the 'Remain in Classic' permission through a perm set.
