I am trying to process a large number of records.

Basically I need to derive some performance objects based on many records. 

In order to derive those performance objects I need to analyze all of the records at once. 

Is there a way to make my asynchronusly query all of the records that I need and then

once all have been gathered in, perform my operation? 

Does anyone have example code on how this can be done?  I am expecting that the answer has to do with Queueable and/or Batchable Apex but the example code does not seem to convey what I described above.
