Hey Pardot Experts!

My question is all about creating custom fields. I tried to create a field in Pardot called Salesforce Lead Status in Pardot. I wanted to be able create this custom field to then create a dynamic list that would help us suppress mailings to leads whom we've disqualified because they don't fit our ICP or they work for competition. I tried to do this and we mapped to a field for lead_status_c and one called lead_status and we found just about every other lead status vlaue (and some we don't use, like 'junk') but those two when we mapped to it. There was also another choice that was similar, but again did not have the right field values (Diqualify Doesn't Fit ICP and Disqualify Competition). I'm assuming that there isn't a limit to the fields, considering it added one our company does not use in Salesforce. Is there a limit to field vales when you look at a field to which to map? Is there another reason why we're not seeing the correct field values?

Thanks for the (pre-emptive) help!

Well, there's a default Salesforce field for Lead status already. It has API name of just 'Status' but I think the Label (pretty name) is Lead Status.

If you have a bunch of fields and can't figure it out... then most likely you have Pardot already mapping to it. (if you already are mapping to it, then you won't be able to pick it again, you know?)

So back where you were, under Admin > Configure Fields > Prospect Fields.

And in the Custom fields, look for the column for

    SALESFORCE.COM

    FIELD NAME.

The name in that column is the API name in Salesforce.

Look to see if you already have a Pardot field mapping to a Salesforce field name of just 'Status.'

Or look for other fields mapping to your new Salesforce custom fields. See what you have.
