Im attempting to add a quick action/ button in LEX to add a task or take a note on the lead object in the Sales App. I've tried editing the buttons and quick actions on the lead page layout a.k.a record page via Mobile & Lightning actions. Usually there is a drop down by that related list. In this case.. it's not. When i click on the drop down on the Activities related list, it displays no actions available.
@Demario Snead New task is an OOTB action on the activity feed. In Lightning, there is less of a need to drill down to a related list to take actions. Notes are not activities, so you would not see a new note action on the Activities related list. Here are three ways you could quickly add a note, depending on your record page design and whether you want the note attached to the record:
-Add a related lists single component for Notes, then you will see 'New' in the drop-down on the component.
-Add relate list quick links component to your page, hover over Notes and then click New.
-Click on Notes on utility bar and add a new note, then associate it to the lead record.
