I've just started working in Lightning in preparation for migrating users next year. I've noticed a few things that are problematic, at least from my perspective, and just wanted to share in case others agree (I suspect our users would agree with many of these observations):
- Visually, it's hard to find anything on a page because everything blends together. My eyes can't quickly find what's a field name and what's a field value. I find it odd that field names are in a smaller font than field values. Typically it's the other way around. Even then, the difference in the two is negligible and hard on the eyes. Maybe consider putting field names in bold or something.
- I entered the date 9/25/18 in a date field and received an error on the year. It requires 4 digits. In Classic, such dates are automatically converted to 4 digits.
- As an Admin, I create a lot of test records and often do so by cloning Accounts and Opportunities. After the cloned record appears in edit mode, the Account Name and Opportunity Name fields are not editable. The only option I have is to click the "x" in the field and retype the whole name. Either that or I have to remember to copy the originating Account/Opportunity Name first before clicking Clone. In Classic, I can edit Account/Opportunity Names when cloning.
- When scrolling down on records that have the Highlights Panel, the name of the object disappears. The only field that is frozen is the Account/Opportunity/etc. Name. It would be helpful, especially for new users, if the type of record they're on remains visible when scrolling down.
- When viewing a list view as a table, it's just my opinion that: (a) wrapping functionality should apply to column headers, and (b) column headers should be initial caps and bold. The reason for (b) is because, once again, my eyes keep getting confused on what's a field/column name and what's content. The column headers being in all caps and in a very light gray bar isn't enough to quickly differentiate what I'm seeing on the page.
Having said all of that, I'm sure it just takes some getting used to.

I agree that we struggle with most of these aspects as well. Viewing a record in Classic is much easier and intuitive, as the labels and sections are well indicated, highlighted and it is very easy for the eye to differentiate between the label and the field value. I struggle with the new look as everything BLENDS together. Well said!!
