We just attended the Files and Content Roadshow. Very impressed with the upcoming Files Sync and Files Connect. However, many of the issues we face is due to the lack of real time notification of file uploads/updates. Often users expect real-time notification when they follow a particular file. Then they realize a real-time option isn't available under email/notification settings. Finally, they try to @mention someone a few times only to realize they can't spell someone's name (much less even try to pronounce others).

With the turnover we have in staff, I feel adoption will be slow. And with most internal users using Chatter Free and with Files Sync being only available to Chatter Only users (who may have real-time toaster notification?), it broaden the gap among users. Not to mention we have a files cloud solution in place--it's not nearly as elegant as Files and Content, but "time is money" and in a fast-paced collaborative environment, everything has to be done NOW.

    Hi @Chae Im

    - thank you for the feedback! We are planning improvements to the Chatter File Follow model to make its functionality closer to the Subscribe feature in Content Libraries (as part of Unification) - we will factor this scenario into our roadmap.
