Create a Financial Deal
Rob is excited to try Financial Deal Management. He starts with the basics and creates a deal record for the Dorjelean acquisition.
- Click .
- In the search box, enter
deals
and select Financial Deals. - In the New Financial Deal window, provide the following information.
- Name:
Dorjelean Kitchen Acquisition
- Account: Northern Trail Outfitters (NTO)
- Financial Deal Type: Mergers and Acquisitions
- (Optional) Fill in other details.
- Name:
- Click Save.
Create a Financial Deal Party
Next, Rob adds Dorjelean Kitchen as a party to the acquisition deal.
- Click .
- In the search box, enter
parties
and select Financial Deal Parties. - Click New.
- In the New Financial Deal Party window, provide the following information.
- Party: Dorjelean Kitchen
- Financial Deal: Dorjelean Kitchen Acquisition
- Party Type: Company
- Click Save.
Create a Financial Deal Product
A financial deal product is the service provided to the client. As Cumulus is providing advisory services to NTO, Rob adds the service as a financial deal product.

- In the search box, enter
products
and select Financial Deal Products. - Click New.
- In the New Financial Deal Product window, provide the following information.
- Financial Deal: Dorjelean Kitchen Acquisition
- In the Product field, select + New Product.
- In the New Product window, provide the following information.
- Product Name:
Merger and Acquisition Advisory
- Select Active.
- (Optional) Fill in other details.
- Click Save.
- Product Name:
- Back in the New Financial Deal Product window, click Save.
Add an Interaction Summary to the Financial Deal
Rob just returned from an important meeting with the NTO management and wants to capture the key discussion points and next steps. So he adds an interaction summary to the Dorjelean acquisition deal record.
- Click .
- In the search box, enter
deals
and select Financial Deals. - Open the Dorjelean Kitchen Acquisition record.
- On the Interaction Summaries component, click New.
- In the New Interaction Summary window, provide the following information.
- Title:
Dorjelean Kitchen Acquisition Call Report
- In the Interaction field, click + New Interaction.
- In the New Interaction window, provide the following information.
- Name:
NTO Meet and Greet
- Account: Northern Trail Outfitters (NTO)
- (Optional) Fill in other fields.
- Click Save.
- Name:
- Title:
- Back in the New Interaction Summary window, in the Account field, select Northern Trail Outfitters (NTO).
- (Optional) Fill in other details.
- Click Save.
Share a Financial Deal
Rob wants Charlie Melly, the analyst in the team, to do some market research on Dorjelean Kitchen and share a report on it. But before Charlie gets started, Rob must share the acquisition details safely with him. Thanks to Matt and CDS, this is already set up.
Here’s how Rob shares the Dorjelean Kitchen acquisition record with Charlie using CDS.

- In the search box, enter
deals
and select Financial Deals. - Open the Dorjelean Kitchen Acquisition record.
- In the Share Financial Deal component, click Add.
- In the Add Financial Deal Participants window, provide the following information.
- You can share a financial deal with either a user or group. Rob is sharing the acquisition record with Charlie. So, in the Users or Groups picklist, select User.
- Search for and select Charlie Melly.
- Click Next.
- Select the Analyst role and then Active.
- Click Finish.
