Like I said in my earlier post there are several different ways to make a field required.

You can create a Validation Rule:

    https://na2.salesforce.com/help/doc/en/salesforce_useful_validation_formulas.pdf

or you can do it using the Page Layout Editor or Field Accessability Settings:

    https://na2.salesforce.com/help/doc/en/salesforce_pagelayouts_cheatsheet.pdf

A lot of the answers to your recent posts can also be found in the Online Help & Training:

    Nathan,

are you saying that Case Reason is required and you want to make it NOT required IF a spefic field is populated? If yes, I believe there is no such way, but you can make the opposite - Make the Case Reason NOT Required and put a validation Rule to make it required based on your needs.

This is a question but the opposite direction.  Is there a way to make Case Reason NOT required based on another field with a validation rule.

    Thank you so much!

You can do it with a validation rule, the Page Layout Editor or the Field Accessability Settings.

What is the field name and datatype?
